T O P I C R E V I E WAmberVonSchriekdo you just put in noon?I asked and he doesn't know the birthtime but he said he bets he was born early in the morning.May 26th, 1954 in Herford Germany.I've tried a couple different times and it's SO different for each time. *sighs* Should I just use noon or go by what he says and pick an early morning time?------------------we'll be together till the end of time and when you smile, red rose, it's just like blue sunshine... oh, we're ascending and we'll never die cause when we kiss, red rose, we're changing 6 to 9 ...it's revolution time when 6 turns into 9 CarloI use noon when no idea on the time is available. If the person knows it was morning or night, I use 6 am or 6 pm. Without a time, no Rising Sign calculation is immediately possible, no House info, just Planets in Signs and their aspects to each other, and even then the Moon's position is suspect, and even the Sun and Mercury too. Always grind the person to get a time, make them call their mother that minute if you can...it makes all the difference, yet you can get somewhere without it. In other words, just knowing someone has Venus in Virgo may be enough to learn about them for one week BB,CarloCatHi Amber I tend to do the same as Carlo...noon if someone has no idea.... if morning 6am etc. However I do find that as I "observe/get to know" people I really can get a definate "feel" for their rising sign and so adjust their chart accordingly.Aside from learning etc about the different sign characteristics...I find it easier to compare people and their behaviour - I really do find that to be very accurate, especially when you add any current transists "into the mix"Sue CarloThe process Sue is referring to - narrowing the time of day by observing the person and taking other learned data into account - is called rectification. Sometimes its the only way to get a birthtime. Chances are he can just ask his mum and get the answer. Yet since that can be an uncomfortable question sometimes, just go with 6 am for now, until you learn otherwise.Love,CarloCatHey Carlo I wasn't actually referring to a full chart rectification - but as you say - that is the only real way to truely determine a correct birth time. I've never actually done that for anyone - very time consuming hey?I was really meaning comparing other people who have Virgo,Leo etc rising. By way of example. A friend of mine is a Scorpio - she has no idea of her time of birth. I've known her for a very long time - a lot of her behaviour is so Virgo - her features are very "Virgo" plus she has suffered health wise for quite a few years now. A Virgo rising would put Uranus transiting her 6th house. So it all kind of fits together and I am pretty certain she has Virgo rising.Sue
